I bet you have been able to notice quite an amount of fashion trends inspired by the 90s making a proper comeback these days, right?

Well, quite honestly, I can’t blame anyone… The 90s are definitely my favorite as well when it comes to fashion trends. There’s just something enchanting about it, something that attracts you, and definitely pulls you in. I’m sure you know what I mean.

No worries. Everything we’ve loved, or weren’t the biggest fan of, is officially back and more stylish than ever! It’s been 30 years since the decade started, but that didn’t seem to stop these iconic looks from resurfacing, proving yet again how the decade revolutionized the fashion industry.

With the number of trends that have started ever since last year, I thought it would be nice to make a list of some of the trends I saw that are definitely worth the hype.

Without further ado, let’s jump straight into this list!

Bucket hats were one of those divisive fashion trends — meaning you either loved them or wouldn’t be caught dead in one. Ever since they appeared at Lacoste’s Fall/Winter 2018 show in Paris, they started being quite in tone. However, it seems they started getting a bit more attention now. And honestly? They actually look good!

As we can tell, nowadays these clips are mostly used to hold your hair up when you don’t want to get it wet in the shower. However, back in the days, these babies were the ultimate chic hair accessory!

Bike shorts were perfect to wear in or out of the gym, and they’ve recently been welcomed back into the fashion fold.

Bandanas were such a versatile accessory to have in your ’90s wardrobe because you could wear them in your hair! Around your neck! As a shirt! The possibilities really were endless. And so are now!

Back in the days when you needed to throw something over your shoulders in case it got a bit chilly, something to go well with your spaghetti straps or slip dress, there was nothing like a cardigan! Well, the updated version looks chic even when worn as a top.

Spaghetti-strap tops and dresses were mostly worn to elegant soirees and were the “going out” style of the ’90s. The trend has been popping up on celebrities. and is quickly making its way to the fashion fore again.

Mom jeans are back and better than ever as the high-waisted baggy style has been popularized again thanks to street-style stars, models, and clothing brands. Despite all the times these jeans have been the butt of fashion jokes, the silhouette they offer is actually as flattering as it could be.

Exaggerated cat-eye frames peaked in the ’90s. Now, the style is much more modern, as evidenced, the following pictures.

Delicate slip dresses were a staple in every ’90s girl’s closet. What’s stopping you from getting at least one slip dress to try for yourself? Absolutely nothing! And they look as gorgeous as always!

Velvet was another trend that was popular in the grunge era, but it’s since resurfaced with an elegant twist on tailored coats, dressy pants, wrap dresses, and much more.

Which one of these is your favorite and which other trends would you love to see again? Let me know in the comments!

  1. As long as super-low hip-huggers don’t make a comeback, I’m good! 😁

I love the claw clips and cardigans, and would like to see more fun hairstyles from the 90’s trend again 🙂 Oh, and for a brief period in the late 90’s, bell bottom flare jeans were hot, too. I had some of those!

    1. Understandable! 😂

I feel you about the hairstyles… I’d definitely like to see more! Also, I’ve seen flare jeans making a comeback for themselves. Everything goes around.

  2. Oooooh, the high-waisted Mom jeans! So glad those are back in! And I’m waiting for the grunge style flannel shirts too!
